Many things that occured in the Wizarding World after a certain key prophecy - including the murder of the Potters by Voldemort and the attempted murder of baby Harry - occured because of Sibyll Trelawney's moment of Seer clarity. Many lives were lost and many families were torn apart because the Dark Lord learned of the prophecy and chose to act on it, and it even led to his eventual defeat at the hands of the boy he tried to kill and had marked out as his equal.
But what if the prophecy that set all of that into action hadn't happened?
The Wizarding World never knew that there could have been a Chosen One destined to save them, and the war that should have died out in 1981 instead went on to slowly simmer. The Dark Lord and his followers did go into hiding at one point, but only to gather more followers loyal to their cause. Lily and James Potter never died, and Harry - nor Neville - wasn't ever marked out as equals to Voldemort, so the struggles of the Order of the Phoenix grew increasingly hopeless and desperate as the years war on.
While there seemed to be an uneasy sort of truce in place from 1981 to 1991, there were attacks at sporadic intervals, attacks targeting key members of the Order..as well as Muggles or those with lesser 'blood', mudbloods as the derogatory term places them. Violence was always severe, but the events surrounding them were both quick and died down fast - these were uncertain times.
With many thinking that war was inevitable, the end of the ten year interval seemed to be the perfect time for the dark forces to start stirring again. Things were unnervingly quiet as the time drew closer for the school year at Hogwarts to start up again, and many were very reluctant to send their children off to school. That summer of 1991 would be a very tense time, and increasuing rumors would start to spread that the attacks were going to begin anew as soon as the Hogwarts Express rolled out of the station.
In this time of uncertainty, what course will you choose for yourself? Will you be one to fight against the veiled threat that is Voldemort and his followers, or will you be among those seeking to ravage and destroy the Wizarding World to make it into a new 'world' order of violence and tyranny? The choice is solely yours...choose wisely.
We are a relatively new and active site, with well over 100 canon positions open. When the plot gets moving with the start of the school year, it won't be set entirely in stone, and imput from our members will help decide what happens. Canons and originals alike are welcomed, but we are particularly looking for those of student age.
